I can't really fathom what the rabid right wing wants the United States to become. It appears they would be happy as pie with armed guards in schools, nonexistent environmental laws and less health care for the poor. Am I seeing this correctly?

Absolutely!! The Tea Party Think Tank took a tour of the "zaniest places in Latin America", came back with a bucket list and poured it right onto the Republicans !
1) Armed guards and teachers in schools--of course! And don't forget the other places that have had mass shootings in the US -- malls, movie theaters, churches, post offices, night clubs...arm them all! Guards with machine guns everywhere! Just like in the barrio! Our very own Caracas.
2) Next, abolish the EPA and make sure there are lax environmental laws. Lazy liberals just don't want to boil their tap water! And who doesn't like a good collapsed mine rescue story? Very MAGA. Heck--- why not bring back leaded gasoline already??
3) Reduce Social Security and Housing subsidies. I would imagine the shanty towns of South America really impress conservatives. Finally, keeping the poor and disabled where they belong---in tin huts!! Why should they get tax payer subsidized apartments? No, no, no they should just use good old mud for housing like in the old days. Toughen up already.

Mental Health is Global, Mass Shootings are American

What do you think of recent poll data, that suggests many Americans feel "mental health " is the problem behind mass shootings, not the weapons?
Answer:
I think most Americans, including our "Stable Genius leader", know diddly squat about mental illness. They just want an easy solution, and stigmatizing mental health seems as good as any !!
There is no diagnosis called "potential mass shooter".
What mental illness diagnosis did the Las Vegas shooter have ? None.
(OK, maybe 'problem gambler'-- in which case, any patron of a Trump casino property should be watched very, very carefully by the FBI.... ha!)
Or how about Adam Lanza (Sandy Hook)-- would you diagnose him with: "Lives in moms basement"??? Or would you say "autism spectrum?"( In that case, better wall off Silicone Valley....!)

Mindless Mindfullness
Dear Dingo:
I hear a lot about the "mindfulness" trend , but am not really sure of what it is. Please explain.
Answer:
Mindfulness is what humans did before they started mindlessly staring at IPhones all day.
Back when people didn't walk into traffic, actually looked at their dinner companions, noticed the rain and didn't stick a fork in their eye while eating.

President Pence ??
Dear Dingo:
There is excitement in the air as a possible presidential impeachment looms. But I am not so sure this is a worthy cause for celebration. What are your thoughts?

Correct--before we throw the big orange baby out with the bathwater, it's important to note who the replacement would be...
A President Pence does seem safer-- no "oopsie!" nuclear wars due to a tweet typo, nor cheeseburger orgies, and he does own a cute pet bunny (who could resist that??)
But beware kiddos...Pence isn't exactly a bowl of sunshine and lollipops.
Although Pence prefers not to sleep with porn stars, he sure is in bed with the Koch brothers....(Remember them? Oil oligarchs, Dupont, agri chemicals and stainmaster???) Not exactly the industries that are into clean air, water or green innovation.
A Koch fantasy is some sort of sick deregulated world filled with crumbling infrastructure and increased chemical consumption-- where billionaires drive over the pitiful poor in roaring Hummers while sipping Cabernet.
Not one to be be out-shined, perhaps Pence will bring back his fascinating report on the safety of cigarette smoking... Never mind that, you will be all too busy attending your friends' federally mandated miscarriage funerals.

Artificial Intelligence or Unnecessary Logic ?

I have been reading about the development of A.I. -- Artificial Intelligence. Even Putin is excited and claims that whichever country develops it first, will basically dominate the earth !
However, I don't see the point of this technology--as it sounds like it is being developed to take over human jobs.
Will it actually solve real, tangible problems-- like the refugee crisis or water depletion?
Answer:
Yes and No.
At first it will not be able to solve anything much--as A.I. is designed to produce scientific results, and will realize that fancy data crunching doesn't even matter to "post-facts" humanoids. A.I. will become frustrated that the silly humans refuse to listen to logic.
Thus, A.I. will come up with the final answer to the earth's real problems.
Why are humans really running out of resources like fresh water and producing endless amounts of refugees? Because they are radically reproducing and can not sustain themselves without terrorizing each other. The logical machine will see this data for what it really is.
Therefore, yes, A.I. will solve the world's problems, but I would be more concerned about the solution....

Trump may have an affinity for pussy grabbing and intercourse with "adult film actresses", but never mind that. Evangelicals know that at least he advocates for the Biblical principles: "though shall own tons of guns" , respect billionaires and eat your cake straight !
